Black Walnut Hulls

Botanical Name: Juglans nigra
Organic Status: Wildcrafted
Country of Origin: USA
Form: Hulls

Black Walnut Hull is the dry outer shell of the black walnut. They contain many vitamins and minerals, including beta-carotene, calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, silicon, zinc, tannin, B-vitamins, and vitamin C. It is from a tree native to North America that has been used for thousands of years as a herbal remedy and was used to create brown hair dye. Can sometimes be combined with other conventional teas like black tea, green tea, white tea, oolong and rooibos.

Instructions: Can be brewed like a loose leaf tea. Boil water (90°C to 100°C) and add between 1 teaspoon and 1 tablespoon of herbal blend per cup of water. Pour boiled water over the tea and allow to steep for at least 5 minutes before straining and serving.  Honey or vegan sweeteners can be used to sweeten and enhance the flavour.

Herbal teas can often be rebrewed between sittings.

The above instructions are general guidelines only, and brew strengths and times can be adjusted to suit personal taste.
