Uva Ursi, also known as Bearberry, is a fruit that is really popular with bears. Uva Ursi literally translates to 'bear grapes'. It has a history of use dating back to the 2nd century and was popular in folk medicine around the world. It is also popular as an ingredient in facemasks.
Brewing Instructions: Can be brewed like a loose leaf tea. Boil water (90°C to 100°C degrees) and add between 1 teaspoon and 1 tablespoon of herbal blend per cup of water. Pour boiled water over the tea and allow to steep for at least 5 minutes before straining and serving. Honey or vegan sweeteners can be used to sweeten and enhance the flavour
Caution: it is recommended that adults do not consume more than 2-4g per day over a maximum of 2 weeks as some people may experience nausea. Consume tea 30 mins away from medications as this herb is very astringent due to natural tannins and may inhibit the absorption of some medications. Not recommended for children or in pregnancy & breastfeeding.
