A full bodied classic tea originally blended by Chinese Tea Masters and now enjoyed throughout the world. A sweet, floral bergamot mixed with malty, full-bodied black tea leaves.
Orange Pekoe (OP) is one of the worlds most popular grades of black tea. The word 'orange' doesn't have anything to do with the fruit or colour. In the 1600s when tea began being widely distributed throughout Europe by the Dutch East India Company, the Dutch royal family was of House Orange. In respect to the royal family, the highest grade black teas were termed "Orange Pekoe". This tradition has remained into modern times.
Black Tea Brewing
Instructions: Can be brewed like a loose leaf tea. Boil water (use at around 95°C) and add 1 teaspoon tea per cup of water. Pour boiled water over the tea and allow to steep for at least 2-3 minutes before straining and serving. Honey or vegan sweeteners can be used to sweeten and enhance the flavour, and milk or milk alternatives are a favourite addition.
