Description
A very old Chinese tea with earthy taste. Helps digestion. Grown in Yunnan province.
A tea revered in China for its deep earthy flavour and its complex aroma.
This is aged before deemed drinkable. Coming from Yunnan province in China, it is a 'post-fermented' tea.
It has a special woody earthy flavour, Pu-erh yields a strong colour brew but not bitter at all. Gentle to the stomach.
Golden Pu-erh has had the sweetness of the Chrysanthemum flowers added to it. It nicely complements the earthy taste of Pu-erh, creating a healthy and soothing tea with a subtle sweet floral fragrance.
Pu-erh with Chrysanthemum flowers is very popular in Hong Kong. Served in many Chinese restaurants because it is delicious, and considered particularly good for cooling internal heat, as well as assisting to aid digestion.
Just like other teas, pu erh is in fact another type of leaf tea made from the same Camellia Sinensis tea plant. Green tea is minimally oxidized during production whilst black tea is fully oxidized. Like black tea Pu erh is fully oxidized but it also undergoes post-fermentation (aging) that results in a characteristically smooth flavor.
This is good for up to 4 brews. Steeping time: 2 minutes for first brew, 3 minutes for second brew etc.
