Spirulina was a food source for the Aztecs rich in protein, vitamins, minerals, carotenoids and antioxidants. Blue Spirulina is the blue pigment derived from blue-green algae, which is very high in vitamin nutritional content. This magical superfood will add a pop of vibrant blue to your food creations. Easily added to smoothies, lattes, baking etc.

The E rating determines the grade of the quality. We also Carry E18 in another listing. If it doesn't have a E rating then it is most probably an inferior, unsafe or fake product.

Herbal Extract Powder Brewing Instructions:

Add ¼ teaspoon of herbal powder to a cup or bowl, and combine with a small amount of boiled water at around 90°C to 100°C. Stir to combine, and top up your cup or bowl with more hot water, stirring as you do this. Add enough hot water to suit your preferred strength of tea. Serve and enjoy.

Personal Note from Kerrie & Krystle:
We used two teaspoons of the E6 grade, Organic Blue Spirulina powder, to colour a generous amount of Cream Cheese Frosting for more than two dozen cupcakes, and some desiccated coconut for decoration.  The powder mixed in really well, it was very easy to use, and no sign of clumps.  It turned the frosting into the rich, baby blue colour we were aiming for, and did not impact the yummy flavour at all.
The cupcakes were assembled into a Teddy Bear shape and a generous heaping of frosting were added to smooth the cupcakes together into one form.
The Blue Spirulina was an excellent natural colouring option compared to traditional blue food dye, which can be a trigger food for children with hyperactivity or sensitivities, plus as a bonus it is a natural antioxidant boost.
It was a definite hit with the kids! And being a cupcake pull apart cake, it was really easy to hand out the portions!
