When Should You Use Essential Oils?
Aromatherapy commonly includes the use of essential oils. With the dazzling array of scents and blends they come in, essential oils can provide soothing benefits to their users.
Essential oils can be used at any time! Here are some great ways to use essential oils, as well as some potential benefits that they can bring to your life.
1. When you want better sleep
Between fast paced lifestyles, work and health stressors, taking care of your family — it’s hard to not be sleep deprived these days.
Essential oils come in many relaxing scents. From lemon eucalyptus to lavender, hibiscus to sandalwood, there is such variety to choose from!
Anxiety, restlessness, and stress are big reasons for insomnia. If you’re suffering from poor sleep, smelling a soothing scent may be able to bring you a sense of calm. If you use these calming essential oil scents in your aromatherapy, it may be possible for you to be in a better mind space for sleep.
2. Meditation and Yoga
Inhaling aromatic floral fragrances is a wonderful way to try and enhance your meditation experience. Essential oils can be easily used with diffusers, allowing the scent to permeate the air. Meditation is typically easier when the mind and body are relaxed, and aromatherapy has the potential to bring the mind to a calmer state.
If you practice yoga or meditation, aromatherapy through essential oils may be something to consider for your routine.
3. Aphrodisiac
While essential oils are said to act like aphrodisiacs, they aren’t really the same. They can, however, be more versatile and personalised to your taste and comfort.
Essential oils are made from organic flowers and herbs and are blended to excite the senses. Popular “aphrodisiac” essential oils include Ambrette Seed, which has a rich, musky scent. One way you can enjoy such an essential oil is to burn or diffuse it.
At the end of the day, so long as you aren’t ingesting the essential oils or using them in a dangerous way, essential oils may be used at any time!
