Hibiscus Christmas Tea Recipe
Christmas in Australia gets HOT!
Stay cool and refreshed this festive season with a delicious iced herbal tea.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of dried hibiscus petals
- 2 cups of water to boil
- a drizzle of honey
- fresh slices of lemon & orange
- fresh mint
- 1L of sparkling water
- ice cubes
Boil the hibiscus petals for 10 minutes, or to preserve their natural goodness, pour boiled water over a bowl of petals, cover and allow to steep for 10 minutes.
Strain the water into a large jug to remove the petals.
Squeeze the juice from your orange slices into the jug, and then add these to the jug.
Add a couple of fresh lemon slices as well without squeezing, unless you like it tart!
Drizzle some honey to sweeten while the tea is still warm, but not hot, and stir to help this dissolve.
Add in the sparkling water and top with fresh mint leaves.
To serve, pour into glasses filled with ice cubes and enjoy!
You could also jazz this up by adding fresh strawberries and raspberries.
