Description
Rehmannia Root
Botanical Name: Rehmannia glutinosa
Organic Status: Conventional
Country of Origin: China
Form: Processed root
First recorded in 200BC, Rehmannia Root is counted as one of the 50 most important herbs used in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Grown in the northern parts of China, practitioners used this root to restore the balance between Yin and Yang forces. The root’s ability to function as an adaptogen is what has led to its popularity and inclusion in many natural remedies. Whilst it is commonly brewed by itself due to its sweet taste, it can be paired with other herbs to enhance flavour.
Loose Leaf Tea Instructions: Can be brewed like a loose leaf tea. Boil water (90°C to 100°C degrees) and add between 1 teaspoon and 1 tablespoon of herbal blend per cup of water. Pour boiled water over the tea and allow to steep for at least 5 minutes before straining and serving. Honey or vegan sweeteners can be used
Herbal teas can often be rebrewed between sittings.
The above instructions are general guidelines only, and brew strengths and times can be adjusted to suit personal taste.
