Organic Astragalus Root Powder
Botanical Name: Astragalus membranaceus
Organic Status: Organic
Country of Origin: China
Form: Root
Astragalus Root Powder is recognised as an adaptogen and is very popular in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It has been used for thousands of years and was often combined with other herbs. Astragalus is particularly popular to blend with Ginseng which is another adaptogen.
Instructions: Add 1 teaspoon of herbal powder to a cup or bowl, and combine with a small amount of boiled water at around 90°C to 100°C. Stir to combine, and top up your cup or bowl with more hot water, stirring as you do this. Add enough hot water to suit your preferred strength of tea. Serve and enjoy.
You can also sneak this into your food by adding to soups, stews, rice, or any food that simmers for at least 30 minutes. Simply add a teaspoon or so to a teabag or washed calico sachet and pop into the cooking dish. When cooking is complete, remove the teabag or sachet and all of the goodness has gone into your food! Astragalus has a neutral, somewhat pleasant taste.
The above instructions are general guidelines only, and brew strengths and times can be adjusted to suit personal taste.
