Description
BLACK MUSK ATTAR
Essential Oil Attars are prized in perfumery as they are made using pure essential oils extracted by steam distillation directly into an oil base, or fixative, which is traditionally Sacred Sandalwood oil. This process is repeated multiple times, before the oil is then sealed and stored away for years to fuse into a product where the volatile oils, that would normally rapidly evaporate open exposure to air and heat, become heavier and longer lasting.
The end result is a natural product that has evolved into a longer lasting scent with a depth, maturity, and mellowness that lends itself well to botanical perfumes.
Botanical Name: Nardostachys jatamansi
Origin: India
Method: Hydro-Distillation into fixative
The flowering plant of Black Musk grows in Himalayan regions. The rhizomes of the plant are crushed and then hydro-distilled to extract the strongly fragrant oil.
An uplifting scent and is great for yoga and meditation.
Used extensively in the manufacturing of different types of skincare products as well as soaps as well as the perfumery industry.
