What is an Attar?

An Attar is a bit different to a straight essential oil. A flower, herb, or spice, or sometimes a unique mixture of these, is steam distilled directly into a base, which is traditionally Sandalwood oil. The volatile/essential oils are "fixed" into the base in this process and then this is bottled and stored like a fine wine or whiskey to "cure". The older the attar, the more the aroma deepens and develops, unlike a normal essential oil, which degrades over time due to oxidization and evaporation.

Attars are a wonderful way to capture delicate scents that are unable to withstand traditional steam distillation well, and they are also highly prized in perfumery.

If you are looking for a high quality, natural perfume, with a scent that wont evaporate too quickly, Attars are the way to go!

Yes, they can also be used in a diffuser, however as the particles have been fused into the heavier base, changing their basic structure, they are designed to not evaporate as quickly as plain essential oils. The best way to use them is exactly like a perfume, or on aromatherapy jewellery, to carry the scent with you all day.

Considered an aphrodisiac.

Rose attar due to its highly refreshing, pleasing and aromatic fragrance, is widely used by perfumery industries.

This attar has wonderful effects when used as aromatherapy treatment. It influences on physical, mental and spiritual levels.

Rose attar is considered is also believed to have magical properties and to keep away stress and reduce household upheavals.
