Labdanum Oil is a product obtained through steam distillation of crude gums, leaves and branches of Labdanum shrub, which results in a sticky brown resinoid Essential Oil.  The plant is one of the species of rock Roses, and is also known as a biblical oil, and Rose of Sharon.

Oil of labdanum has sweet- resinous, woody, and amber aroma. It can range in colour from dark to light brown, and consistency may be thin or thick.

In Aromatherapy this oil broadens self awareness and stimulates intuition. It can be used for cleansing negativity and creating Sacred Spaces. Also is emotionally elevating, yet also grounding. It is also associated with control, trust and vitality.
